The Kansas men’s basketball team’s 80-62 home loss to Kentucky on Saturday led to a five-spot drop in the weekly Associated Press poll.

Kansas, which entered last week at No. 5, is now ranked No. 10, while Kentucky, which started last week at No. 12, jumped seven spots to No. 5 following the convincing win at Kansas.

The Jayhawks did beat No. 13 Texas Tech last week at home prior to the loss, which was both a good win and probably helped KU stay in the top 10.

Texas Tech dropped one spot to No. 14.

Baylor remains the highest ranked Big 12 team in the poll this week, falling from No. 4 to No. 8 after its SEC/Big 12 Challenge loss at Alabama.

Baylor and Kansas will square off at Allen Fieldhouse this weekend, after the Jayhawks head to Ames, Iowa, to take on Iowa State at 6 p.m. Tuesday night.

The Cyclones, who took KU down to the wire in their meeting at Allen Fieldhouse, moved up three spots to No. 20 in the latest poll.

Texas, which knocked off Tennessee in the challenge over the weekend, also returned to the poll at No. 23 after a week outside of the Top 25.
