The Kansas bench rises up in anticipation for a three during the first half, Monday, Feb. 25, 2019 at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Kansas men’s basketball team picked up a huge victory over in-state rival Kansas State at Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night, and, in doing so, kept alive its hopes of extending the current Big 12 title streak to 15 in the next couple of weeks.
The Jayhawks have work to do to have a shot at that and they’ll need help from the rest of the conference, as both K-State and Texas Tech — now 1 game up on KU with 3 to play — will have to lose at least one more game in order for KU to pull out a tie for the Big 12 title.
But they have a chance.
In my latest appearance on Rock Chalk Sports Talk, with Nick Schwerdt, we talked about how good those chances were, what KU would need to do to make sure they take care of their part of the equation.
Oh, and we also talked about the man of the hour Monday night, junior forward Mitch Lightfoot.
Give it a listen as you wait for the Jayhawks to get back to action at 11 a.m. Saturday in Stillwater, Okla., against Oklahoma State.
