• **Gill says KU defintely improved last week.** The players executed the gameplan better, especially on defense.
• **Gill’s keys to the game:** 1. Must have success early; 2. Must play physical; 3. Must stay healthy; 4. Improve.
• **Jordan Webb is in a wait-and-see mode with his shoulder.** The coaches will examine him day by day to see if he will be able to play this weekend.
• **KU defensive end D.J. Marshall, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last year, is now cancer free.** He’s started to do minimal football activities.
• **D.J. Beshears and Deshaun Sands will be available this week.**
• **Kale Pick is now available after suffering a concussion against Texas A&M.** The coaches still haven’t decided who will play if Webb is not available.
• **KU put in twist blitzes last week to attack some weaknesses against Iowa State.** Gill said both Toben Opurum and Richard Johnson played well.
• **Gill’s decision at the end of the first half to let the clock run down from 30 seconds to 3 seconds to kick the field goal wasn’t predetermined.** Gill wanted to make sure KU could go ahead at halftime against Iowa State.
• **KU has not been hitting its goals of “knockdowns” on offense.** Gill says the Jayhawks haven’t been as physical as he’d like for them to be.
