Freshman Quentin Grimes on how Kansas defended Texas guard Kerwin Roach II

Kansas freshman Quentin Grimes spoke to reporters Thursday night following KU’s 65-57 win over Texas Thursday night in the Sprint Center.

The Jayhawks (24-18) led for over 30 minutes of their first postseason game of the year. Kansas scored 34 points in the paint compared to Texas’ 20.

Freshman Devon Dotson led the team with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Dedric Lawson (16 points), David McCormack (13) and Quentin Grimes (12) all scored in double figures as well to help KU advance to the Big 12 semifinals.

Kansas will face West Virginia at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
