The Keegan Ratings: A Rush repeat

By Staff     Jan 27, 2007

_After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the basketball equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He’ll rate the Jayhawks’ individual performances from top to bottom, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch and who has seen better days. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel._**1. Brandon Rush**: Had 21 points on just 13 field goal attempts and mixed in eight rebounds and four assists.**2. Mario Chalmers**: Stayed out of foul trouble and contributed 21 points, three assists and four steals.**3. Russell Robinson**: Made great decisions with the ball, again shot well, and contributed to a long afternoon for talented Colorado freshman Xavier Silas.**4. Sherron Collins**: He gets better and better all the time. How about the steal under KU’s basket? Nobody will ever call this player soft.**5. Darnell Jackson**: He made all six of his free throw attempts, blocked two shots and grabbed three rebounds. **6. Sasha Kaun**: If he’s going to be a go-to guy on offense, he has to do better than 4-of-10 from the field.**7. Brady Morningstar**: Five points and a steal in five minutes for the freshman who’s looking more comfortable all the time. **8. Jeremy Case**: Hit his lone three-point attempt. If he does that the next time he comes into a game in the first half a tight contest, there is a good chance he’ll hit his second and third as well. **9. Julian Wright**: He did have six steals, but his four turnovers, including a missed dunk attempt, contributed to keeping the Buffaloes in the game longer than they should have been.**10. Darrell Arthur**: Along the lines of the philosophical question ‘If a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?’: ‘If a players fouls out of a game, and nobody notices he’s gone, did he really foul out?’**11. Rodrick Stewart**: Always hustles.**12. Matt Kleinmann**: Red hair means white flag time for the opponent.**13. Brennan Bechard**: Snagged a board in 30 seconds of playing time, which computes to 80 rebounds per 40 minutes of playing time.**14. Brad Witherspoon**: Drew a huge ovation when he became the final player to check into the game.**The Keegan Ratings: Season Standings (total points and average rank)** **1.** Brandon Rush (69, 21 games) 3.29 **2.** Mario Chalmers (71, 21 games) 3.38 **3.** Julian Wright (82, 21 games) 3.90 **4.** Sherron Collins (96, 21 games) 4.57(**_Jumps Arthur for No. 4 ranking_**) **5.** Darrell Arthur (97, 21 games) 4.62 **6.** Russell Robinson (103, 21 games) 4.90 **7.** Sasha Kaun (98, 18 games) 5.44 **8.** Darnell Jackson (130, 21 games) 6.19 **9.** Rodrick Stewart (153, 17 games) 9.00 **10.** Brady Morningstar (83, 9 games) 9.22 **11.** Jeremy Case (105, 11 games) 9.55 **12.** Matt Kleinmann (97, 9 games) 10.78 **13.** Brennan Bechard (78, 6 games) 13.00 **14.** Brad Witherspoon (80, 6 games) 13.33
