The Keegan Ratings: Mario again masterful

**_KUSports.com editor Ryan Greene is filling in for Tom Keegan on The Keegan Ratings for this game and Saturday’s contest with Rhode Island. Tom will be back next week._**_After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the basketball equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He’ll rate the Jayhawks’ individual performances from top to bottom, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch and who has seen better days. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel._**1. Mario Chalmers**: For the second straight game, Chalmers was without question the best player on the floor. Despite a tad of foul trouble, he played 33 minutes, again was 50-percent from three-point range and was KU’s biggest bright spot at the free throw line. He’s showing a much more aggressive nature, but in his signature silent style.**2. Brandon Rush**: Rush admitted after the game that he just mentally didn’t bring it tonight, but he gets tons of credit for playing 33 minutes just hours removed from the flu. And his stat line wasn’t horrible, with nine points, five rebounds, two assists and, hey, no fouls.**3. Russell Robinson**: No one’s offensive woes have been more apparent lately than Robinson’s, but the brunt of his seven points came on two three-pointers, one of which keyed KU’s big run right off of the opening tip. He also had five rebounds, including two huge back-to-back defensive boards.**4. Sasha Kaun**: Despite fouling out late, Kaun was good all-around on a night when KU’s bigs were pretty quiet on offense. He had six points, five boards and four blocked shots.**5. Sherron Collins** Collins’ seven points and five assists may have been pretty quiet, but that’s because he just played 16 minutes. He was big when Chalmers was out with foul trouble early in the second half.**6. Julian Wright** Wright had just five points with five boards, three fouls and three turnovers. He had one stretch which was a head-scratcher in the second half. After badly hitting just the backboard on a straight-away 18-foot jumper, he came back down on the next possession and clanked a quick three. A rare lapse in offensive judgment on his part.**7. Darrell Arthur** Bill Self didn’t know until after the game that Arthur was playing while sick, and his performance was pretty spotty. Despite a nice early highlight on a lob throwdown from Collins, he had only six points and five boards in 21 minutes.**8. Darnell Jackson** After a big emotional contribution Saturday, he had only one point and two rebounds in 13 minutes of play and was just pretty absent overall.**9. Jeremy Case** Self inserted Case to try and spark an anemic offense late in the first half, but that plan didn’t work out. Case was scoreless, didn’t take a shot and, in fact, didn’t register himself anywhere on the stat sheet in seven minutes of play. The Keegan Ratings: Season Standings (Average rank) **1.** Julian Wright 3.08 **2.** Mario Chalmers 3.23 **T-3.** Darrell Arthur 3.92 **T-3.** Brandon Rush 3.92 **5.** Russell Robinson 4.92 **6.** Sherron Collins 5.38 **7.** Darnell Jackson 5.46 **8.** Sasha Kaun 6.00 **9.** Rodrick Stewart 8.90 **10.** Brady Morningstar 9.33 **11.** Jeremy Case 9.80 **12.** Matt Kleinmann 10.12 **13.** Brennan Bechard 12.67 **14.** Brad Witherspoon 13.00
