The Kansas football team will hold its spring game at Booth Memorial Stadium on April 9, the school announced Monday.
The game, which serves as the annual culmination of the spring practice season, will begin at 1 p.m. The university will also hold a surplus sale, live music and a kids’ carnival before the game, with additional events to be determined in the coming weeks.
Admission to the game will be free and tickets are not required.
Kansas held its first of 15 spring practices early Monday and will hold three a week until the spring game, with the exception of when the university is on spring break from March 12-20.
It is the first spring for coach Lance Leipold, who was hired in April after the university parted ways with former coach Les Miles amid allegations of sexual harassment dating to his time at LSU.
The Jayhawks went 2-10 in Leipold’s first season, but their performance was punctuated with a 57-56 overtime win at Texas on Nov. 13 — their first conference victory on the road since 2008.
