Kansas head coach Brandon Schneider calls out a play during the Big 12 tournament against Texas Tech at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo., Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

The Big 12 Conference on Monday afternoon announced its league schedule for women’s basketball games, including the 18 contests that await Kansas this winter.

As was announced in June, over the course of that schedule the Jayhawks face Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech both home and away; host BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Utah and West Virginia; and travel to face Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Iowa State, TCU and UCF.

What was newly released on Monday is exactly how the games align over the course of more than two months, from KU’s opener in Ames, Iowa, against ISU on Dec. 21 to its regular-season finale at OSU on Feb. 28.

The Jayhawks will play their first league contest at Allen Fieldhouse against WVU on New Year’s Day before heading back out on the road to UCF on Jan. 4. KU welcomes Utah to Lawrence for the first time as a league foe on Jan. 7 before making the familiar trip to Baylor on Jan. 11.

Three days later comes the first half of the two-way series with Oklahoma State, and then the Jayhawks will make a two-game swing through the state of Arizona to face Arizona State (Jan. 17) and Arizona (Jan. 20).

KU renews the Sunflower Showdown on Jan. 25, looking for revenge after K-State swept the rivalry series last season, and then goes to league champion TCU on Jan. 29.

As the calendar flips to February, the Jayhawks will enjoy a rare three-game homestand. It consists of Colorado (Feb. 1), BYU (Feb. 4) and Cincinnati (Feb. 7). From that point on, KU alternates road and home matchups: at Texas Tech (Feb. 10), vs. Houston (Feb. 14), at Kansas State (Feb. 21, after an open date at midweek), vs. Texas Tech (Feb. 25, not long after the previous matchup, for senior day) and then at OSU to close out the month.

The Big 12 tournament begins soon afterward, on March 4.

KU is looking for a better finish to the 2025-26 season after it got eliminated in the opening round of the 2025 Big 12 Championship by Texas Tech and concluded an injury-plagued 2024-25 campaign without a postseason run. The Jayhawks have added a highly touted freshman class that ESPN ranked No. 7 in the country to a returning core led by guards Elle Evans and S’Mya Nichols. KU will look to return to the NCAA Tournament after a one-year absence, and for the third time in head coach Brandon Schneider’s tenure.
