In a reversal of typical policy for Kansas football games at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, fans will be permitted Saturday to reenter the venue for the second half if they choose to exit at halftime.
KU Athletics announced Friday morning the change for this week’s rivalry game against Kansas State (11 a.m. kickoff, FOX Sports 1), citing the desire to “enhance the game day experience and alleviate fan congestion” inside the stadium.
Anyone with a ticket who wants to take advantage of the reentry option will be permitted to leave the stadium at halftime, get a hand stamped by a staff member on the way out, and return before the beginning of the fourth quarter.
Fans have to show their stamp and game ticket to come back in after halftime.
KU stated the reentry policy was temporary, so that likely won’t be an option for KU’s next home game, the season finale on Nov. 27 versus West Virginia.
