Kansas soccer records scoreless draw with Kansas State

No goals were scored in 110 minutes of Saturday’s rivalry matchup between the Kansas women’s soccer team and Kansas State, ending in a 0-0 draw after two overtimes at Rock Chalk Park.

The Jayhawks (6-3-2) got off 14 shots, including six shots on goal, during their double overtime draw with the Wildcats. Kansas State posted 11 shots, which included two shots on goal. KU finished with a 5-3 advantage on corner attempts as well.

It was a performance that came one week after Kansas secured a 2-0 win over Kansas State in Manhattan.

Goalkeepers from both squads were key players in Saturday’s match. KU’s Sarah Peters recorded two saves, while Peyton Pearson of KSU finished with five saves.

Midfielder Rylan Childers fired off five shots (two on goal) to lead the Jayhawks on the offensive end. Kansas midfielder Avery Smith recorded three shot attempts on the day, two of which were on goal.

Kansas will travel to Iowa State at 3 p.m. Saturday.
