By Staff Report     Sep 9, 2019

The Kansas women’s golf team fought the weather and completed its first round and half of the Minnesota Invitational before play was suspended due to lightning Monday at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury, Minnesota. The Jayhawks currently sit in 12th place on the leaderboard.

KU got off to a hot start, leading the way in first place through the first six holes with junior Yi-Tsen Chou paving the way for the Jayhawks while also in first place on the individual leaderboard.

Chou started on the back nine and recorded four birdies, including a pair of back-to-back on holes 16 and 17. She shot 1-under par 71 in the first round and is currently tied for eighth overall.
