Already recognized as two of the top players in the Big 12 Conference, Kansas players Udoka Azubuike and Devon Dotson were honored on a national level on Tuesday.
The two KU starters were among the 21 players who received votes for the Associated Press’ preseason All-American team, released by the AP on Tuesday.
The votes were made by the same 65-member media panel that picked Kansas as the No. 3 team in the nation in the AP’s preseason Top 25 poll on Monday and KU was the only school in the nation with two players listed.
Last week, Azubuike was named the Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year and preseason all-Big 12 by the conference coaches. He was also one of 20 players on the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year watch list.
Dotson joined Azubuike on the preseason all-Big 12 team and was one of 20 players listed on the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year watch list.
