Two Jayhawks in top-20 heading into final round

Kansas sophomore Sera Tadokoro carded a round of even par 72 on Saturday and is in a tie for 13th place overall to lead the women’s golf team after 36 holes of play at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

As a team, the Jayhawks are sitting in a tie for seventh place with a 615 (306-309) entering the tournament’s final round on Sunday.

Tadokoro moved 27 spots up the leaderboard and improved seven strokes on Saturday’s second round. She started off strong with a 2-under effort and four birdies on the front nine and ultimately finished the day with six birdies on the way to her sixth round of par or better this season. The Osaka, Japan native will enter Sunday’s final round with a 36-hole total of 7-over par 152 (79-72).

After recording her eighth under-par round of the season in round one, Yi-Tsen Chou shot a 9-over 81 on day two and is in a tie for 19th. Chou has a two-day total of 8-over 152 heading into the final round (71-81).

The final round of play will tee off Sunday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
