The Kansas softball team could not weather the storm against No. 7 Tennessee at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in a 9-0 loss Friday afternoon.
In a game that experienced a one-hour weather delay in the fourth inning, the Jayhawks (2-9) could not gain momentum before or after the break.
Kansas faced Tennessee’s Ashley Rogers, who tallied a complete-game one hitter against the Jayhawks, and started the game with four no-hit innings. KU’s Miranda Rodriguez broke up the no-hitter with an infield single in the fifth.
The Lady Volunteers (9-3) jumped out to an early four-run lead in the first and added two more runs in the third.
Kansas plays two games on the second day of the Tennessee Classic against Louisville and Bradley at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
