Kansas junior tennis player Anastasia Rychagova won the consolation bracket Sunday at the Riviera ITA Women’s All-American in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Rychagova defeated Oklahoma’s Lily Miyazaki, 6-2, 7-5.
“Words really won’t do Nas (Rychagova) or what she has accomplished much justice,” KU assistant coach Caroline Lilley said. “The way she competed, her willingness to make adjustments and play bold under pressure, and her unwavering resiliency are nothing short of admirable. She came here wondering if she belonged on this stage and she is leaving knowing she absolutely does. She has chosen to focus on the process of daily development and I couldn’t be happier for her.”
