A five-run third inning catapulted Kansas to a 5-4 road win over Texas Tech Saturday night. First baseman Becki Monaghan and senior infielder Taylor McElhaney each had a two-RBI single in the inning.
Freshman pitcher Mandy Roberts stranded two Texas Tech runners in the sixth and seventh innings to seal the deal for Kansas. She struck out three in 2 2/3 innings and earned her first career save.
Kansas will look to complete the series sweep at noon today at Rocky Johnson Field.
