Two Jayhawks snare top-fives in track

? Kansas University sophomore Jaron Hartley moved to No. 2 on the school 200-meter chart, and sophomore Laura Taylor had a career-best vault to tie for fourth at the Arkansas Track and Field Qualifier on Friday.

Hartley placed fourth in the 200 in 21.42, the second-fastest indoor time in KU history.

Taylor cleared 13 feet, 1 1/2 inches to tie for fourth.

KU’s other top finishes: Zainab Sanni, second, 200, 23.75; Megan Linder, eighth, 400, 56.87; Wumi Omare, ninth, 400, 56.90; Stryman Livingston, fifth, 800, 1:49.86; and Jaime Wilson, ninth, 400, 47.92.

A KU team will compete in the distance medley relay today at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

The Big 12 Indoor will be next weekend in Ames, Iowa.

WOMEN

200 — 2. Zainab Sanni, 23.75.

400 — 8. Megan Linder, 56.87; 9. Wumi Omare, 56.90; 10. Morgan Lober, 56.98; 12. Dorie Dalzell, 57.34.

Pole vault — T4. Laura Taylor, 13-11/2.
