KU’s Hoag third in heptathlon

Kansas University senior Austin Hoag was in third place after the first day of the men’s heptathlon in the Jayhawk Classic on Thursday at Anschutz Pavilion.

Hoag totaled 2,698 points, with the final three heptathlon events schedule for today.

KU freshman Arnold Dinh had a first-day total of 2,407, good for seventh place.

Kansas State athletes were in the top two positions. Reinis Kregers leads the field with 3,252 points, and Adam Deterding is second, 79 points ahead of Hoag.
