Austin, Texas ? Kansas University placed third in one relay but was disqualified in another as the Big 12 swimming and diving championship meet opened Wednesday.
KU’s 200-yard medley relay team of Yulduz Kuchkarova, Bryce Hinde, Leah Pfitzer and Pia Pavlic finished second, but was DQ’d.
KU’s 800 freestyle relay team of Haley Molden, Chelsie Miller, Hannah Driscoll and Sammie Schurig placed third in 7:17.5.
Texas leads the team standings with 80 points and is followed by Iowa State (68), West Virginia (62), TCU (58) and Kansas (32).
