KU men fourth, women second at CC meet

Jacob Morgan claimed his first collegiate victory to help Kansas University’s men’s cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Rim Rock Classic on Saturday at Rim Rock Farm.

Nashia Baker placed fifth to lead the Jayhawks to a runner-up finish in the women’s race.

Morgan won the men’s 8K race in 24:30.5. James Wilson placed sixth in 24:50.5. for the Kansas men, who had 85 points to place fourth behind Rice (65), Nebraska-Kearney (76) and Cal State Fullerton (77).

On the women’s side, Baker finished the 6K in 22:07. Hayley Francis placed ninth in 22:28.1 and Rachel Simon 10th in 22:36.3.

Rice won the women’s title with 41 points. Kansas had 43.

The Jayhawks will run in the ISU Pre-National Invitational on Oct. 18 in Terre Haute, Indiana
