Fans can vote for which uniform they want Kansas University football to wear for its Sept. 6 home opener by texting their choice to 37664, with the keyword corresponding with a helmet: “KUWhite,” “KUBlue” or “KUCrimson.”

Don’t expect Kansas University football coach Charlie Weis to spend any time on his phone texting his vote for which of three uniform combinations the Jayhawks will wear Sept. 6 in their home opener against Southeast Missouri State.

“I just want to win football games,” he said. “I really don’t care what we wear.”

While fans also want to see KU win, they can have a say in the attire. Three different pairings decorated the stage at a pep rally Friday in Prairie Village: a blue jersey with a white helmet, a gray jersey with a blue helmet and a blue jersey with a crimson helmet.

Weis knows which one he would bet on.

“My guess is the gray (jersey) will win, because it’s the only game we won (against) a Big 12 opponent last year,” he said, referring to a 2013 home win against West Virginia.
