Hanna leads KU men’s golf at N.M.

Las Cruces, N.M. — Kansas University freshman men’s golfer Chase Hanna fired a final round of 1-under 70 on Tuesday for a 4-over 217 total and a tie for 13th at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate.

The Jayhawks placed ninth in the 17-team tournament on the New Mexico University Golf Course.

KU sophomore Jackson Foth shot a third-round 72 for a 222 total and a tie for 31st. Sophomores Connor Peck and Ben Welle tied for 42nd with a 224 total. Welle shot a third-round 74, while Peck had a final-round 76.

Kansas will compete at UTEP on Friday and Saturday in El Paso, Texas.
