Kansas soccer ties ISU, 0-0

By Staff Reports     Oct 4, 2013

? Kansas University and Iowa State played to a scoreless soccer draw on Friday at the ISU Soccer Complex.

It was the first conference tie for KU since 2008.

“I didn’t think we played very well today and a lot of the credit for that should go to Iowa State,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “They really took us out of our rhythm for most of the game. We defended well, but on the offensive side of things we couldn’t get anything going.

“The way the game went, I honestly feel fortunate to get the tie. We’ll take it and move on to Sunday.”

KU moved to 5-5-2 overall, 0-0-1 in the Big 12. Iowa State is 6-6-1 and 0-2-1.

Kansas goalkeeper Kaitlyn Stroud had five saves in her fourth shutout of the season.

KU will host Texas on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m., with a live telecast available on Metro Sports and ESPN3.com.
