Former Jayhawk Aishah Sutherland to play for U.S.

Former Kansas University women’s basketball player Aishah Sutherland will play on the United States team at the Four Nations Tournament, June 17-30 in China. The 12-player U.S. team will join China’s national “B” team, the Australia Rising Opals and the Hungary national team in a three-city round-robin tournament for a total of nine games.

After KU, Sutherland played briefly with the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA before playing professionally in Italy. With the Jayhawks, she averaged 13.9 points and 8.9 rebounds during her senior season, which included a trip to the Sweet 16 of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
