First-team junior college All-American Ben Welle has signed to play golf at Kansas University, KU coach Jamie Bermel announced Tuesday.
Welle, a native of Moorhead, Minn., will be a sophomore after one season at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. As a Fighting Artichoke, Welle averaged 71.3 strokes per round, won two tournaments and tied for 13th at the NJCAA National Championship.
Welle is the seventh member of Bermel’s first recruiting class at Kansas.
