? The Kansas University swimming and diving team lost a close meet to Iowa State on Saturday, 158-142, in the final dual of the regular season.

KU junior Brooke Brull won the 150 backstroke, senior Shannon Garlie finished first in the 400 free, sophomore Sophiia Filatova took first in the 50 fly and senior Stephanie Payne won the 300 IM.

“I hope the team is a little disappointed, and I’m sure they are, but with disappointment you can either be bitter or better. Hopefully we can use this to be better in a couple of weeks,” coach Clark Campbell said.

The Jayhawks (5-5, 0-2 Big 12) will prepare for the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 22-25 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in Columbia, Mo.
