Both of Kansas University’s doubles teams won their matches Friday afternoon at the Jayhawk Tennis Facility.
Paulina Los and Dylan Windom teamed up for two wins in the Blue Draw, taking 8-3 and 8-4 victories against teams from Iowa and Oklahoma. Victoria Khanevskaya and Kate Goff picked up an 8-4 victory against a team from Wichita State and downed a UMKC team, 8-2, in the Red Draw.
Khanevskaya built on her team-leading singles record with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Kansas State’s Alina Piotrowski in the White Draw. However, the rest of the team struggled in singles Friday, as Los, Windom and Pezzotti all fell in their singles matches.
Day Two of the KU Invitational will begin at 9:30 this morning.
Meanwhile, at the ITA/USTA Regional Championships Friday in Fayetteville, Ark., KU’s Ekaterina Morozova and Erin Wilbert claimed a victory in the Round of 64.
