Boosted by a quick start, the Kansas University women’s basketball team cruised to a 85-44 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday night at Allen Fieldhouse.
Sophomore forward Carolyn Davis led the Jayhawks with 22 points in 20 minutes, and scored 12 of KU’s first 14 points.
Junior Aishah Sutherland added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Monica Engelman chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Jayhawks (2-0) hit the road to face Wisconsin on Sunday.
