ACC nears TV deal with ESPN
The Atlantic Coast Conference appears to be nearing completion of a multi-year television deal with ESPN that will provide the conference with a substantial upgrade in its revenue in 2011-12.
Citing unnamed sources, the Sports Business Journal reported Monday that ESPN will pay the ACC $1.86 billion over 12 years. That’s $155 million a year, more than double the approximately $75 million the ACC was making under its current agreements with ESPN and Raycom Sports.
