By J-W Staff Reports     Jul 28, 2010

Kansas University’s Abigail Anderson, Brooke Brull, Joy Bunting, Shannon Garlie, Brittany Potter and Stephanie Payne will compete in the 2010 ConocoPhillips National Swimming and Diving Championships Aug. 3-7 in Irvine, Calif.

They will be joined by Danielle Herrmann, former Kansas standout and new KU volunteer assistant coach.

“This is a great opportunity for these athletes to go experience a meet of this magnitude,” Kansas head coach Clark Campbell said. “Getting to go to Southern California and race against the best in the world will give them a new appreciation for this sport.

“We are very grateful to Kansas Athletics for the opportunity.”

Athletes at the meet will be trying to qualify for 2010 Speedo Junior National Championships and the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships.
