Charlotte, N.C. ? Former Kansas University point guard Sherron Collins likely will be invited to the Charlotte Bobcats’ preseason training camp, the Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell reported Wednesday.
The 5-foot-11 Collins last week played for Charlotte’s summer league team in Orlando, Fla.
The Bobcats are also close to acquiring point guard Shaun Livingston, the paper reported. Livingston would compete with D.J. Augustin for the starting job vacated by Raymond Felton, who signed with the New York Knicks. Collins, who was undrafted, could emerge as the team’s No. 3 point guard.
