Kansas University’s basketball team will meet Memphis in the 2010 Jimmy V. Classic on Dec. 7 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, tournament officials announced today.

The Jayhawks and Tigers will play the first game of a one-day doubleheader. Michigan State will meet Syracuse in the other game.

The doubleheader benefits The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Since it was established in 1993 to honor the late Jim Valvano, The V Foundation has raised more than $95 million for cancer research.
