KU men’s golf team in fourth place

? Nate Barbee and Jeff Bell both fired second-round 71s to help the Kansas men’s golf team improve on its first round score by 12 strokes and enter the final round in fourth place at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate at Blue Hills Country Club.

The team struggled late in the first round and carded a 305 in the morning, before shooting a 293 in the second round.

“We actually played solid today outside of every guy losing a few strokes coming in during the first round,” said KU coach Kit Grove. “The course was pretty windy and because of that it was tough to get the ball close to the hole and the greens out here are tough.”
