? Kansas University’s Lauren Bonds clocked a 4:20.95 in the 1,500 meters Saturday at the Payton Jordan Invitational, a ninth-place finish that is the third-fastest time in KU history.

Bonds, a junior from Hutchinson, was already qualified for regionals in the event and improved her career-best time with her performance Saturday. She was the only KU athlete competing at Stanford this weekend.

Bonds and her teammates now will prepare for the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, May 15-17 in Lubbock, Texas.
