Kansas University women’s basketball guard/forward Danielle McCray was named Big 12 player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Last week, McCray averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds in leading the Jayhawks to victories over Oklahoma State and Nebraska.
The Olathe native, who recently was named to the Naismith Award Midseason List, tied a career high with 30 points against OSU on 9-for-13 shooting. She also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds. The junior added 18 points and six rebounds on Saturday against NU.
McCray also won Big 12 player of the week on Dec. 8. She is the first KU player to win the honor twice in a year since Crystal Kemp accomplished the feat in the 2005-06 season.
