Kansas State (15-7, 4-4 Big 12) had a difficult shooting night against the stingy Cyclone defense, going 4-for-19 from three-point range after hitting 29-for-46 from the arc in its previous three games.
The Wildcats made up for it with defense, holding Iowa State (12-10, 1-6) to 32 percent shooting and leading scorer Craig Brackens to 14 points — none in the final 13 minutes — on 6-of-20 shooting. Jamie Vanderbeken also had 14 points for Iowa State.
The Cyclones have lost six straight to Kansas State for the first time since 1980-83 and five straight overall.
Denis Clemente, who had a Big 12-record 44 points against Texas on Saturday, had 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting for the Wildcats, while Jacob Pullen added 13 points.
Kansas State has been riding a wave of confidence over the past two weeks, following a four-game losing streak to open conference play with four straight wins.
