Kansas University forwards Marcus Morris, left, and Markieff Morris made the extra effort to hit the weights in the offseason. They have added muscle, they’re more aggressive, and they’re dunking with regularity, parts of their games that lacked at times last year.

Kansas University sophomores Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris and Tyshawn Taylor all missed Saturday night’s men’s basketball practice after getting into Lawrence late because of flight delays.

All three players made it back to Lawrence safely in time for Sunday’s holiday clinic.

Taylor made it back to Lawrence late Saturday night after practice had been completed. He was re-routed to Dallas on his trip back from New Jersey.

The Morris twins, on their way back from Philadelphia, arrived in Chicago at 11 a.m. Saturday and spent the entire day on standby on various flights. After the final flight of the night had departed, they were given some cots to sleep on, but the cots were so small, the twins decided to pool their money to get a hotel room.

An early-morning flight out of O’Hare Sunday also was delayed. The twins made it back near the end of Sunday morning’s practice and attended the entire holiday clinic, which ran from 1 until 3:30 p.m. There also was another practice scheduled for later Sunday.

Marcus Morris joked that he’ll never spend any time in Chicago in the winter again.

No other Jayhawks had travel issues over the holiday break.

The top-ranked Jayhawks play host to Belmont at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
