Kansas University track and field signees Mason Finley and Rebecca Neville had successful showings at the 2009 Pan American Junior Championships, July 31-Aug. 2 in Trinidad. Finley won the shot put (66-8) and discus (214-4), establishing new Pan American Junior Championship records in both events. Neville placed sixth in the the heptathlon with 4,627 total points.
