KU women’s golf fifth at Big 12

? Kansas University’s Meghan Gockel tied for sixth place, pacing KU’s women’s golf team to a fifth-place team finish Sunday at the Big 12 Championships.

Gockel shot 75-76-79-230.

Other KU scores: Sydney Wilson, tied for 28th, 238; Emily Powers, tied for 34th, 240; and Grace Thiry and Meghna Bal, tied for 41st, 242.

Oklahoma State won the team title with 909 strokes, while KU shot a 945. Texas A&M’s Ashley Freeman was individual medalist at 225. She won a two-hole playoff with Oklahoma’s Kendall Dye.
