Late Night taking food donations

By J-W Staff Reports     Oct 8, 2008

Admission is free to next week’s Late Night in the Phog basketball event, but everyone attending is asked to bring nonperishable food donations or to donate funds at the door.

Doors are scheduled to open at the annual celebration of the beginning of the men’s and women’s basketball season at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17.

The food donations should be canned or packaged nonperishable items.

All donations will benefit Lawrence-area food pantries. Items of particular need include meats, fish, chili, stews, vegetables, fruit, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, fruit juices, oatmeal, crackers, dry or evaporated milk, rice and low-sugar, high-fiber cereals.
