Carolyn Davis, a 6-foot-3 senior forward out of Houston’s George Bush High, has orally committed to play basketball at Kansas University.

Davis, who averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks a game last season, chose KU over Texas A&M, TCU, Pittsburgh and others.

“She is an amazing player, a very good kid who works hard with a great work ethic,” George Bush coach Christina Rankin said.

“She has been a blessing. She came here from Indiana her junior year and completely helped turn the program around. She’s a good student, great kid with good grades. You couldn’t ask for more.”

Davis visited KU in September.

“She had a very good connection with the coaches,” Rankin said. “She liked the family atmosphere. She thinks they’ll do a lot of great things for her.”

Davis will sign a letter-of-intent with KU in the early November signing period.
