KU women snap out of funk, knock off ISU 53-50

By Ryan Greene     Feb 2, 2008

Behind 20 points and 12 rebounds from 6-foot-5 freshman Krysten Boogaard, the Kansas University women’s basketball team registered its second Big 12 win of the season, downing Iowa State 53-50 Saturday night in Allen Fieldhouse.

Boogaard also had three blocked shots against the overwhelmed Cyclones front court. The 20 points were scored on efficient 8-of-10 shooting, which helped balance out KU’s 1-for-11 showing from three-point range. Danielle McCray scored 11 for the Jayhawks, while fellow sophomore Sade Morris added nine.

Allison Lacey scored a game-high 23 for ISU, but the Cyclones in the end died by the three, hitting just five of 25 attempts from beyond the arc.
