"An Incredible Year" documents Kansas University's 2007-08 men's basketball season.

You experienced the championship; now you can read the book.

The World Company today releases “An Incredible Year,” a 176-page, full-color book about Kansas University’s men’s basketball NCAA championship season.

The book, officially licensed by Kansas University, features stories about the players and coach Bill Self, hundreds of photos and new introductions by Journal-World Sports Editor Tom Keegan and Assistant Sports Editor Gary Bedore, the 2008 Kansas Sports Writer of the Year.

“This book is a look back at how our staff captured an incredible year none of us will ever forget,” said Keegan, whose columns appear in the book. “Here’s hoping reading it will keep the memories fresh forever.”

“An Incredible Year” takes fans into the locker room and onto the court throughout the season and captures the Big 12 and NCAA tournament sweeps.

“Even before the Jayhawks won the national championship, our reporters, photographers and designers were putting together many of the photos and stories that make up this special commemorative book,” said Journal-World General Manager Al Bonner. “We think ‘An Incredible Year’ represents the definitive account of KU’s national championship run and outstanding season. We are very pleased and proud of the results.”

The softcover book costs $24.95, plus tax. A hardcover book will be available next week for $37.95.

“An Incredible Year” is available at the Lawrence Journal-World, 609 N.H., and at retail locations throughout Lawrence.

The book also can be ordered online at LJWorldstore.com. Those who already have ordered the book online should receive it later this week.
