At Sunflower Elementary my 4th grade class has a tradition of collecting and putting up clippings and photos from the newspaper on our KU Wall of Fame. We bring in the pictures and the kids take turns taping them up on our wall collage style.

We also get together with the third grade class and sing The Rock Chalk Chant, Crimson and the Blue and the fight song before every football and basketball game for good luck. Mrs. Bukaty, our 3rd grade teacher, teaches these songs as a part of her Lawrence History unit.

I am attaching a few pictures of our wall in my room. We will be singing for The Jayhawks at 2:55ish this Friday if you want to see us in action.I’ll have my lucky “Beware of the Phog” t-shirt on!

Thanks so much!
