? Derrick Low scored 19 points, and No. 4 Washington State’s top-ranked defense did the rest in a 67-34 victory over North Carolina A&T on Friday night.

Aron Baynes added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Washington State (12-0) tied its best start since 1991-92.

The school record is 17-0, set in 1914-15.

Steven Rush scored eight points to lead North Carolina A&T (5-8), which has lost six of its last seven. The Aggies shot just 27 percent from the field and had 19 turnovers.

The Cougars have won six games by at least 20 points this season, and held seven opponents beneath 50 points.

No. 16 Butler 57, Southern Illinois 55

Carbondale, Ill. – A.J. Graves sank a 35-foot shot at the buzzer to lift Butler over Southern Illinois. Wesley Clemmons made a three-pointer with just over a minute remaining to give the Salukis a 55-52 lead, but Mike Green converted a layup for the Bulldogs.

Southern Illinois’ Tyrone Green then missed a free throw, setting the stage for Graves’ shot.

Mike Green led Butler (12-1) with 19 points. Matt Howard added 15, and Graves finished with 10.

No. 22 Mississippi 78, Southern Miss 58

Southaven, Miss. – Chris Warren scored 17 points, Dwayne Curtis added 15, and Mississippi set a school record for consecutive victories to start the season.

Warren started two runs that helped Ole Miss hold off streaky Southern Miss (8-5), including a personal 7-1 run that straddled halftime and featured a three-pointer from 30 feet as time expired in the first half.

Ole Miss held Southern Miss without a point in the final 61â2 minutes to break open an entertaining back-and-forth game.

The Rebels’ 12th straight win set the school record for consecutive victories to start the season. The Rebels started the 1936-37 and 2000-01 seasons with 11 straight victories. Both years, the Rebels finished with 20 or more victories.

The win also tied the school record for consecutive wins in a season, set in 1926.

No. 25 Rhode Island 92, E. Michigan 75

Corpus Christi, Texas – Will Daniels and Jimmy Baron scored 18 points each to lead Rhode Island past Eastern Michigan in the Islander Invitational.

The muscular, 6-foot-8 Daniels did most of his damage inside for the Rams (12-1), who were playing their first game as a Top-25 team since the 1998-99 season. Baron scored from the outside, shooting 4-of-9 from three-point range.

Zane Gray had 12 points for Eastern Michigan (4-5), which has lost four of its past five games. Carlos Medlock and Jesse Bunkley chipped in 10 apiece for the Eagles.
