KU senior Sheldon Battle was named Monday the Division I Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year for the Midwest Region by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Battle finished fourth last weekend at the NCAA Indoor championships in the shot put with a throw of 63 feet, 4 inches and had a toss of 69-0 in the weight throw to place 10th.
