K-State loses its tourney opener to Texas Tech by eight points, and then KSU loses its head coach Jim Wooldrige. After the contest, K-State Athletics Director Tim Wieser announced that Wooldrige would not return as Coach for a seventh season with the Cats. Under his tenure, K-State never played a post-season basketball game.
