Kansas University’s football program continues to recruit aggressively with signing day just around the corner, landing a high school defensive lineman over the weekend.
John White, a 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle from Moore, Okla., committed to Kansas on Sunday, according to Rivals.com. He’s the 24th known commitment for the class of 2006, and, like most of the others, plans to sign Wednesday, the first day high school seniors are allowed to ink letters of intent.
White lacked offers from big-time programs, but had been getting heavy interest from TCU, Tulsa, Colorado and others as of late.
“Kansas plays a scheme where they want their defensive linemen to attack,” White told Rivals.com. “Coach (Bill) Young told me he likes the way I attack. He told me I have good feet and hands.”
Kansas has signed four mid-year transfers already, and the rest plan to sign Wednesday. KU coach Mark Mangino will meet with the media Wednesday afternoon to discuss the signings.
