No more cupcakes for A&M

? No. 9 Texas A&M has cruised through the early part of its schedule. It’s about to get a lot tougher.

Joseph Jones had 24 points, Antanas Kavaliauskas scored 23, and the Aggies prepared for a difficult road game against LSU with a 74-62 victory over Pacific on Saturday.

Texas A&M has won every game this season by double digits, all of them at home. The Aggies, who are winning by an average of 24 points a game, finally hit the road to play No. 10 LSU on Tuesday before facing top-ranked UCLA in Los Angeles on Dec. 9.

“It will be a good test (going to play LSU),” Texas A&M coach Billy Gillispie said. “There will be a fired-up team waiting for us over there, and hopefully we will able to compete with them.”

Colorado State 84, Kansas State 83

Fort Collings, Colo. – Cory Lewis scored a career-high 30 points, and the Rams weathered his late foul blunder.

Lewis fouled Cartier Martin from beyond the three-point arc with 0.1 second left with the Rams holding a two-point lead. Martin missed the first two free throws before sinking the third.

Oklahoma 63, TCU 35

Norman, Okla. – David Godbold scored 13 of his game-high 15 points in the second half to lead the Sooners.

Rutgers 75, Nebraska 73

Piscataway, N.J. – J.R. Inman put back a missed shot with 18 seconds left, and the Scarlet Knights survived foul trouble.

Oklahoma State 90, Pepperdine 74

Stillwater, Okla. – Mario Boggan and JamesOn Curry each scored a game-high 24 points, and the Cowboys pulled away late.

Baylor 89, Texas St. 64

Waco, Texas – Kevin Rogers scored 18 points, Curtis Jerrells had 17, and Henry Dugat added 15 to pace the Bears.

Colorado 88, N. Colorado 86

Boulder, Colo. – Jermyl

Jackson-Wilson scored just three points all night, but had the winning basket at the buzzer for the Buffaloes.
