Former Kansas University standout Scott Russell finished 12th and last in the finals of the javelin at the World Track and Field championships Wednesday in Helsinki, Finland. Russell, who was competing for Canada, threw the spear 225 feet Wednesday. He had reached the finals by unleashing a toss of more than 260 feet in Tuesday’s qualifying.
